Jim Schlosser
City Council
Ward 7
My name is Jim Schlosser and I am thrilled to serve as your ward 7 City Councilor starting in 2024. For over two decades, I served our U.S. veterans as a primary care physician and organizational leader at the Veterans Health Administration (VA). Now, I serve on the Board of the Coalition to End Homelessness and play an active role in addressing the housing crisis. Service is not just a chapter of my life, it is who I am. I believe governance should be a collective effort grounded in our community's needs and values. Concord is a city rich in resources, innovation, and creativity coupled with a strong work ethic. There is no limit to what we can accomplish when we work together!

I come from humble beginnings as the second of seven children, with parents rooted in the heartland of central Illinois, where hard work and resilience define our values. My father was the first of his generation to attend college.
With that foundation, I graduated from Cornell University and went on to earn a medical degree and MBA. I have over three decades of leadership experience including strategic implementation, and community development.

In 2016, my wife Laurie (a long-time NH resident) and I moved to Concord and fell in love with its community spirit, epitomized by the multicultural festival and downtown vibrancy. I have been highly engaged in my community including:

-
Board Unitarian Universalist Church of Concord
-
Board Concord Coalition to End Homelessness
-
NH Master Gardener
-
Volunteer, Sycamore Community Garden (NHTI)
-
Trained facilitator, Prosocial World
-
Member, NH Center for Nonprofits

Concord is facing big challenges including housing shortages, opioid addiction, climate issues, mental health, and public safety concerns. But together, we can overcome these hurdles and build a city that works for all.
