I am proud to have been sworn in as your new Ward 7 Councilor. Thursday's meeting was largely ceremonial, but it was surely momentous for me as a first time councilor. Mayor Champlin emphasized five priorities:
economic opportunity,
securing public safety,
national affordable housing crisis,
investing in critical needs like infrastructure and workforce, and
respecting the burdens property taxpayers face.
In my remarks I acknowledged the long tenure and effective work of outgoing councilor Keith Nyhan. We all owe him a debt of gratitude. I also emphasized that the work before us is to balance the needs of city services and infrastructure with the cost burden on residents and businesses. There will be many difficult decisions in the months ahead and I welcome your input. My full remarks are HERE.

I encourage everyone to subscribe to the City Manager's Newsletter (top left corner of this LINK) which includes timely info about events and notices. This weekend, information about the coming winter storm is paramount.
Issues that I am researching to learn more about include:
for property owners, categories of property tax exemptions
Concord's Revolving Loan Fund through the Community Development Department
Let me know if there are issues you would like to know more about.
Best wishes for a happy new year-2024!
