Why I’m running for Ward 7
My name is Jim Schlosser and I’m running for Ward 7 City Council. I am a doctor. I am a basketball player. I am a gardener. I am a steward of this place, this city. I want to make the most of my turn, my time on this planet, this city, this community, this ward. Go Ward 7!
I worked as a primary care physician and organizational leader for almost 20 years in the Veterans Health Administration in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Providing and improving care to veterans was both rewarding and humbling. This past year I donated a kidney to my brother in Pennsylvania. My neighbor had cancer surgery, so I mowed his lawn.
This life of service and leadership is who I am. This is what I have to offer to Ward 7. Our community is rich in resources and human ingenuity. We can be a model city for sustainability, compassion, equity, and prosperity. We do not need more partisanship. We need to work together. It’s not about what is right or just. It’s about what is possible. What is possible for us to create together. What is possible to create aligned with our shared values. Together we can learn our way through the challenges we face. Be sure to vote on Nov. 7, absentee if necessary.
Thank you. And join with me in consciously evolving a city that works for all.
JIM SCHLOSSER
